What we do

Gender Equality

At the She's STEM Foundation, promoting gender equality is central to our mission in Cameroon. We work to ensure that girls and women have equal access to educational and career opportunities in STEM fields. By advocating for inclusive practices and challenging gender biases, we aim to empower women to pursue their ambitions and break down barriers that limit their potential.

Our Initiatives

Achieving gender equality in Cameroon also requires engaging boys and young men as allies. The Boy Initiative for HER aims to involve boys in promoting gender equality and supporting their female peers. Studies show that when boys are educated about gender stereotypes and encouraged to be allies, they play a crucial role in fostering a more inclusive environment. Our initiative includes educational programs and awareness campaigns that promote respect, support, and collaboration among boys and girls utilizing men as primary coaches, mentors and . By working together, we aim to build a community where every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of gender, and contribute to a more equitable society.
: Addressing gender-based violence is a crucial aspect of our work. We are committed to creating safe environments where girls can thrive without fear of harassment or abuse. Our programs include education on rights and protection, and we work with communities to prevent violence and support survivors, ensuring that every woman, every girl has the opportunity to focus on her education, livelihood and the future.
Social integration is key to fostering a supportive community for all young people. We focus on promoting inclusivity and building networks that connect women, girls and yppung people with mentors, peers, and resources. By encouraging collaboration and understanding across different groups, we help create a more cohesive society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed, regardless of their background.
