What we do

Education & Protection

Education & Protection are deeply interconnected components of a holistic approach to empowering women and girls, especially in challenging contexts and rural areas. Both are essential to ensuring that all women and girls, particularly in crisis-affected areas, have the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Both elements work together to build a foundation of security and opportunity, ultimately empowering individuals to overcome challenges and drive positive change in their communities.

Our Initiatives

Our Education Initiative focuses on empowering girls in rural Cameroon by providing them with the tools, resources, and support necessary to turn their ambitions into achievements. We believe that education is a fundamental right and a powerful catalyst for change, enabling young women and women to pursue their dreams and contribute positively to their communities. Our Lifelong Learning Initiative is designed to empower elderly learners by providing them with opportunities to acquire new skills, engage socially, and foster personal growth. This program recognizes the value of lifelong learning and aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors through education tailored to their interests and needs.
The triple crisis in Cameroon has disrupted daily life and weakened community values, severely affecting young people, especially women and girls. This has led to interrupted education, exposure to violence, and increased stress from social media. At the She's STEM Foundation, we address these challenges through programs that build essential skills like communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. Our goal is to help young people navigate social media, rebuild self-esteem, and develop strong moral values, empowering them to lead with integrity and drive positive change in their communities.
Creating a safe and supportive environment is essential for women, girls and children to excel in their communities. In Cameroon, many girls encounter issues such as harassment and discrimination in their learning environments, which can significantly impact their academic performance and career aspirations. Research shows that over 40% of girls in secondary schools experience some form of gender-based violence or discrimination. At the She's STEM Foundation, we are dedicated to advocating for safe learning spaces and eliminating barriers that hinder women, girls’ and children participation in community life.
