What we do
Community Development
At She’s STEM Foundation, community development lies at the heart of our mission in Cameroon, particularly in rural areas where the need for support is most pressing. Our approach is holistic, focusing on integrating essential initiatives—Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Menstrual Hygiene, Livelihood programs, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)—with sustainable practices. Our goal is to empower women and girls by fostering growth and resilience at the grassroots level. By enhancing access to clean water and proper sanitation, we create healthier environments that facilitate learning and productivity. Our menstrual hygiene initiatives aim to break the stigma surrounding menstruation, ensuring that girls can manage their health with dignity and confidence. While through livelihood and TVET programs, we equip women and girls with the skills and resources necessary to pursue sustainable income opportunities, thereby strengthening their economic independence.
Our Initiatives
Our WASH initiatives are designed to improve access to clean water and sanitation facilities, particularly in rural schools and communities. By applying STEM solutions, we aim to enhance hygiene practices, promote healthier environments, and support better educational outcomes and overall well-being.
The Menstrual Hygiene Initiative at She’s STEM Foundation promotes menstrual health and hygiene for women and girls in Cameroon, Adagom Refugee Camp Nigeria, and University areas in Cameroon. We recognize that access to menstrual products and education is crucial for health, dignity, and empowerment, and we aim to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Our partnership with the International Menstrual Hygiene Coalition is exemplary to our annual collaborations to raise funds and resources for our initiative. This partnership enhances our impact, allowing us to provide essential menstrual hygiene products and educational materials to underserved communities. Together, we create sustainable solutions to address menstrual hygiene challenges through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and community outreach
